Then there is York, the capital of Yorkshire where you can witness the remains of Roman, Viking and Medieval architecture.

England’s landscape is covered with landmarks and other riveting sites, like Hadrian’s Wall which was built by Romans when they occupied England. The North York Moors National Park where you can walk along the heather draped hills, the massive sea cliffs and secluded private beaches. Then visit the Peak District National Park where you and walk along moors and hills that travel the Northern borders of England. The Neolithic and Bronze Age Stonehenge, which to this day no one knows for sure it’s meaning or why it was created.

You can’t visit England and not saunter through the past the scattered remains of imposing castles that are dotted across the landscape or walk through the castles that are still standing and have been holding court for the past several hundred years. The country houses, churches, cathedrals and charming little villages that have been sitting on their piece of land for centuries.

The history of England is drenched with mysteries like the legends of King Arthur, the Wookey Hole Caves and the famous Wookey Hole Witch. The Ice Age animals and the archaeological finds strewn over the countryside, England is the place to visit.
